Well wasn't last night's East Fife Male Voice Choir performance at Polmont Old Parish Church just special. I'm still glowing after witnessing it!
Marilyn Boulton led her boys through a rousing series of show tunes, folk tunes and hymns which had the audience moving between reflecting, grinning, tearing up and singing.
A personal favourite was Leonard Cohen's Hallelujah which had me digging out my Jeff Buckley records when I got home.
The solo performances from Roy McArthur, Len Kidd and Bob Christie were massively entertaining and beautifully performed. I particularly approved of Bob's costume change, which took 20 years off him!
It was also a real treat to hear Angus Anderson's 2 violin renditions. The Hungarian dance tune was brilliant. I loved the games between Angus on the violin and Marilyn on the piano. My wee feet were stomping and the grin was splitting my face!
Big shout out too to Callum McLeod who was making his debut performance as the Choir's accompanist. I'll look forward to seeing more of his work in the future.
Bravo Gentlemen, and lady! Absolutely marvellous performance. Thank you.
